Terri Zumbrook,
I have mixed feelings about LOVE & OTHER FORBIDDEN THINGS。 It looked like a sports (rugby) romance。 There wasn’t much action in the sport itself, but the story was good from other perspectives。Amy and Ollie had a forbidden (workplace) romance, and Amy was the little sister of Ollie’s best friend。 This is my issue with the book。 The drama of these two conditions was repeated over and over and overwhelmed the story。I liked the character Ollie for having a moral compass。 He didn’t want to sleep aro I have mixed feelings about LOVE & OTHER FORBIDDEN THINGS。 It looked like a sports (rugby) romance。 There wasn’t much action in the sport itself, but the story was good from other perspectives。Amy and Ollie had a forbidden (workplace) romance, and Amy was the little sister of Ollie’s best friend。 This is my issue with the book。 The drama of these two conditions was repeated over and over and overwhelmed the story。I liked the character Ollie for having a moral compass。 He didn’t want to sleep around, he didn’t want to hide their relationship from the boss or her brother。 It’s definitely worth a read if you like closed door romances and drama。I received an advance copy of this book, read it and wrote a voluntary review。 。。。more

The story Amy is a 20-something physio。 She loves sports and has moved back to Dublin to be closer to her family after working in London。 She has her sights set on working with the Irish National Rugby team, it helps that her brother Eddie is one of the professional rugby players in the team。 She knows he will be against her working with the team and being around the burly rugby players but she is going for the job anyway。 Ollie is a teammate of Eddie’s and he has always kept his love life priva The story Amy is a 20-something physio。 She loves sports and has moved back to Dublin to be closer to her family after working in London。 She has her sights set on working with the Irish National Rugby team, it helps that her brother Eddie is one of the professional rugby players in the team。 She knows he will be against her working with the team and being around the burly rugby players but she is going for the job anyway。 Ollie is a teammate of Eddie’s and he has always kept his love life private。 Mostly because his girlfriend back home Anita doesn’t want to be in the public eye。 But when she announces she is pregnant and marrying his older brother Luke, Ollie is devastated。 Sparks happen to fly though when Amy and Ollie meet! My thoughts I so enjoyed this new book in Lyndsey Gallagher’s series about the various team mates in the Irish rugby team。 This story has plenty of steam but also a sweet storyline where the two main characters share their POV’s which allows the reader to get great insight into each’s perspective。 I love how despite their relatively young ages, both Amy and Ollie are keen to have serious relationships, and aren’t in favour of casual ones。 A big thumbs up to this series! 👍I read an eARC copy courtesy of Booksirens and the author。 。。。more

Super cute love story based in Dublin。 Love the rugby aspect and the team。 Those guys are so fun。 I enjoyed following along as Amy finally stood on her own and went after what she wanted for her life。 Low angst and so much passion。 I love the instant chemistry Ollie and Amy both felt。 Enjoyed the slow burn as they tried to fight it。 The family drama kept it interesting。 Really enjoyed it!I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

Amy has left the bright lights of London to come home to Ireland。 She's a physiotherapist and when she lands her dream job working for the Irish rugby team, her life starts looking up。 The only problem is her brother, Eddie。 He's on the team and overly protective of his little sister。 Not only is it awkward having him watching her every move, he's also made it clear she can't date any of the team, despite the explosive chemistry she has with Irish rugby star, Ollie。Amy and Ollie begin a relation Amy has left the bright lights of London to come home to Ireland。 She's a physiotherapist and when she lands her dream job working for the Irish rugby team, her life starts looking up。 The only problem is her brother, Eddie。 He's on the team and overly protective of his little sister。 Not only is it awkward having him watching her every move, he's also made it clear she can't date any of the team, despite the explosive chemistry she has with Irish rugby star, Ollie。Amy and Ollie begin a relationship in secret。 Can they have love as well as a job, or is it all going to come crashing down around them?OMG I loved this book! Lyndsey Gallagher is a brilliant contemporary romance writer and has fast become a one click author for me。 Her characters leap off the page and I absolutely love the Irish setting and banter。 It's a total page-turner of a book and the steam isn't just found in the steam room, this book will make you very hot under the collar! What I particularly loved is the journey each character goes on。 Amy goes from being the meek 'good girl' to finding herself and not needing the validation of others。 And Ollie comes to realise that what his family does or says has no bearing on his life and choices。I totally loved this book and recommend it 100%! 。。。more
Alicia Allison,
This book starts off strong with a great storyline about a female physiotherapist and a professional rugby player, but then it goes downhill after that, which is sad really, because it had such potential。 The dialogue between the two main characters was just so cheesy and unrealistic。 There were also some sexist moments in the book as well。 One example is where Amy is with her family and is thinking about how her sister who is married isn’t really allowed to do more than hold hands with her husb This book starts off strong with a great storyline about a female physiotherapist and a professional rugby player, but then it goes downhill after that, which is sad really, because it had such potential。 The dialogue between the two main characters was just so cheesy and unrealistic。 There were also some sexist moments in the book as well。 One example is where Amy is with her family and is thinking about how her sister who is married isn’t really allowed to do more than hold hands with her husband, but the men in the family can kiss their significant others。 I am sorry to say that this romance missed the mark for me。 I just couldn’t get past the cheesy dialogue between Amy and Ollie and also because of the sexist moments in the story。 This was the first book that I have read by Lyndsey Gallagher, and unfortunately it will probably be the last too。 。。。more

I enjoyed this book for the most part, but since it’s the fourth book in a series, I wasn’t familiar with the other characters of the book。 Even though it’s a standalone, I think it would be better to read the other books in the series to get an idea of the relationships of the characters。 I really didn’t have an investment in them so their lives didn’t matter to me。 I may go back and read the other books because I really liked the characters。 I did like Ollie and Amy。 It was pretty obvious that I enjoyed this book for the most part, but since it’s the fourth book in a series, I wasn’t familiar with the other characters of the book。 Even though it’s a standalone, I think it would be better to read the other books in the series to get an idea of the relationships of the characters。 I really didn’t have an investment in them so their lives didn’t matter to me。 I may go back and read the other books because I really liked the characters。 I did like Ollie and Amy。 It was pretty obvious that they had chemistry, but the fact that they had to not act upon it was difficult。 I don’t know enough about rugby to really care about the sport。 So, the fact that they all played didn’t really interest me and for some reason I kept thinking it was hockey。Still, the author is good at what she does in creating characters that you route for and want to have a HEA。I was given an advanced copy of this book for free, and I’m leaving my review voluntarily。 。。。more
